Masayo has a passion for teaching art to children. The class has a variety of activities which are based on the interests of the children: Manga drawing, Design, sketching Water colour and colour Pencil drawing.

経歴 コリー真咲代
日本で美術大学の学士を卒業し、４年間東京の広告代理店と大手企業でグラフィックデザイナーとして勤務した後にオーストラリアへ移住。NSW大学にてデザインコースの修士号、大学院を卒業。フリーのグラフィックデザイナーとして活動する傍でアートの制作を続ける。2018年の二人展開催をきっかけにNihongo-Jukuにて日本語学習を用いたアートクラスの担当となる。2019年より依頼を受けてアート専門クラスを自宅にて開始する。クラスを通して、コンピュータ社会、AI化が進む中、具体的に画材を使用して手を動かすアートは子供達の創造力の発展に大きな影響を与える事だと認識する。
Profile – Masayo Colley
Masayo Colley graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an art university in Japan. After graduation, she worked for four years in Tokyo as a graphic designer at an advertising agency and a major corporation. She later moved to Australia, where she completed a Master’s degree in Design at the University of New South Wales.
While working as a freelance graphic designer, Masayo continued her own art practice. In 2018, following a two-person exhibition, she began teaching art classes at Nihongo-Juku, using Japanese language learning as part of the creative process. In 2019, she was invited to start specialised art classes, which she began running from her home studio.
Through teaching, Masayo has come to strongly believe that, in an increasingly digital and AI-driven society, hands-on art making using real materials plays a vital role in nurturing children’s creativity and imagination.
クラスの特徴
年齢対象は6歳から15歳までのお子さんです。子供個人個人の可能性、創造力を高めるためにはどうあるべきか、を常に考えてクラスを作っていきます。クラス内のアクティビティー以外にフリースタイルを設けてなるべく子供達の興味、関心を深める事と自主的な姿勢を保つ様にしています。
一人一人に目が届く様に７人以上はアシスタント先生が付くクラス体制になります。クラスは日本語か英語かどちらの指導を選ぶ事が可能です。子供の日本語学習のためにも、アートの指導を通して日本語で具体的な言葉かけをしながら進めるので、実践を伴い、自然と言葉が身についていくと思います。
Class Features
The classes are designed for children aged 6 to 15 years. Each class is carefully structured with a focus on how best to support and develop each child’s individual potential and creativity.
In addition to guided class activities, free-style time is included to encourage children to explore their own interests, deepen curiosity, and maintain a sense of independence and self-motivation.
To ensure each child receives sufficient attention, classes with more than seven students are supported by an assistant teacher. Instruction is available in either Japanese or English. For families interested in Japanese language learning, art instruction is conducted with clear and practical Japanese language guidance, allowing children to naturally acquire vocabulary and expressions through hands-on experience.
